2024-2025 Winter Break Contract - MSU Billings Housing & Residence Life
 
Winter break begins on Friday, December 13, 2024 and ends on Saturday, January 11, 2025. The flat rate to live on campus over this break is $300.00. 




Students planning to stay in the residence halls during the winter break period must fill out an break contract.  This contract must be completed by 5:00 pm on Friday, December 6, 2024.  **If you are an athlete and planning to stay over the Winter Break, you must complete this form.

Dining Services Section 

During the Winter Break (December 13 - January 11), MSUB Dining Services will be very limited. Stingers will be open for breakfast and lunch Monday-Friday, except the week between Christmas and New Years. Rimrock Dining Hall will be closed for the entire break.


WINTER BREAK CONTRACT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

1. All arrangements to stay during the Winter Break period must be made prior to 5:00 pm on Friday, December 6, 2024.  Any student who submits a Winter Break Contract after this date will be assessed a $25 late charge, in accordance to the "Holiday/Break Housing" policy in the Housing & Residence Life Student Handbook.

2. All students planning to stay during a break period must complete and sign a contract.  A fee will be assessed in accordance to a flat rate no matter the number of days of $300.00.  Additional fees ($20 per day storage fee until property is removed and forfeit of security deposit) will be assessed if students CANCEL during the winter break.

3. All students making arrangements to stay during the break period must have signed a housing contract and have lived in the Residence Halls during the Fall 2024 semester AND be contracted to live in the Halls for Spring Semester 2025 semester.

4. Students who are living in the Residence Halls for the break period and apply for a contract release from their Spring 2025 housing contract during the break period must move out of their Residence Hall room immediately and will be charged for the break.

5. The Residence Halls are technically CLOSED during the break period; however, we have made an exception for those who need to stay.  The Housing Department, Dining Services, and MSU Billings offer limited hours of service during break periods.

6. The Office of Housing & Residence Life reserves the right to deny housing during break periods to students who have been involved in violations of Residence Hall policies or the Student Code of Conduct as stated in The Student Affairs Handbook during the fall semester.  All policies and Student Code of Conduct rules are in effect during the break period.

7. Students found in violation of any Residence Hall policy during the break period will be asked to leave for the remainder of the break and will not be allowed entrance until the halls open on January 12, 2025.  No break refunds.

8. Students who owe balances on their accounts must be paid in full prior to the break in order to stay over the break.
